The organizing committee of the highly anticipated “Light Up the Trace” event invites all community members interested in supporting the safety and security of the Longleaf Trace to join us for a planning meeting. This crucial gathering will take place on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2023, at noon in the Economic Development Office within the County Building on Third Street in Prentiss.

The “Light Up the Trace” event, scheduled for the darkest day of the year, the Winter Solstice, is a collaborative effort involving the communities of Sumrall, Bassfield, Carson, the Prentiss Institute, and the town of Prentiss. It aims to illuminate and enhance the safety and enjoyment of the Longleaf Trace, a beloved community asset. To ensure its success, we are calling on all individuals and organizations eager to contribute to our community’s well-being and the protection of this valuable resource.

During the planning meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to get involved, share ideas, and learn more about how they can support this initiative. To foster collaboration and community spirit, pizza will be served to all participants.
